My guest this week is Winnipeg-born, Toronto-raised, and now New Orleans based, trombonist Chris Butcher. Chris and I talk about his relocation to New Orleans as well as the spirit and culture of this music. We discuss “jury duty” for arts councils, Louis Armstrong’s thoughts about playing music for oneself (not for other musicians!) and we hear about Chris’s many musical goings-ons, including his studio Butcher Studios.
